my eyes are heavy
my feet are like stone
walking for miles
and not a step closer to home.
she walks in like a dream
we’re alone
the moon’s just not helping
and I begin stumbling
a tumble down Slumber Hill
in the dream we are laughing
but I know she’s left me
a tumble down Slumber Hill
in my dream there is laughter
she never came tumbling after…
my legs are dragging
my soul’s full of dread
walking for miles
but not a step out of my head.
she appears like a dream
in my bed,
just as I’m waking –
my world begins crumbling
a tumble down Slumber Hill…
my heart is unsure
my wings are untried
running for miles
and not a bit closer to flight
she glides in like a dream
by my side
the moon’s a harsh mistress,
or something…
i’m mumbling
a tumble down Slumber Hill
in the dream we are laughing
but I know she’s left me
a tumble down Slumber Hill
in my dream there is laughter
she never came tumbling after.
